With over 400 musical support requests each year, the 35-member band can appear as a large ensemble for parades and ceremonies, but can also split into small ensembles to provide musical varieties that fit the needs of each civilian and military request, varying from classical and contemporary chamber music, to jazz and rock ‘n’ roll. Navy Band Northwest is under the leadership of its Director, Lieutenant Bruce Mansfield, and falls under the operational command of Rear Admiral Gary Mayes, Commander Navy Region Northwest.
